Lisa Wise - necklace
Lisa Wise is a member of the Pyramid Players mime troupe as well as a talented visual artist. She has exhibited jewelry in various styles in the Pyramid Studios Gallery, and enjoys creating papier mache sculpture, and collage.
Featured Artist: Loren Miner
Loren Miner is an extremely talented and driven artist. He is a painter who is compelled to create to express himself fully. He is also an artist with very limited use of his arms and hands due to cerebral palsy. In order to create his art, he requires an assistant to help him with the set-up of his visual art materials: his paper, paints, palettes, etc. must all be laid out for him. He uses a helmet with either a brush or palette knife attached to create his paintings and with an assistant to turn his canvas when needed. His artwork is an extremely important part of his identity, as well as his income, as he sells paintings on a regular basis. His body of work includes subjects ranging from still life to portrait to landscape. His paintings are highly sought after by art patrons for their fluidity and richness in color and texture. He has completed many commissioned pieces for private individuals and has exhibited his work at Pyramid Studios Gallery, rotating exhibits in state government and private offices, The Moon, Chipola College Art Center, Tallahassee Little Theatre, Strozier Library, and a juried exhibit at Artel Gallery in Pensacola. Notable works include “Golden Retriever,” “Butterfly,” and "Elephants."
Laura Moore - bracelet
Laura Moore is a very talented jeweler. She is particularly skilled at making earrings. Her pieces often feature beads in hues of purple and orange. She has just recently discovered this untapped talent and has been exhibiting her jewelry at Pyramid Studios Gallery and various other venues.
Katy Flagg - bracelet
Katy Flagg has a dramatic flair and loves performing arts including music and dance. She has starred in productions through Pyramid Studios and has been a member of a prestigious dance troupe. She also has great talent in the visual arts and enjoys drawing and painting. Her artistic style is also very dramatic. Her use of strong contour lines and vibrant color in her compositions commands attention from the viewer. Portraits are her strength, and her subjects have a narrative quality in their expression and physicality. Her compelling works have been displayed in various exhibits throughout Florida. She also enjoys creating jewelry and has displayed several pieces in Pyramid Studios' gallery.
Rick Carton - "Florida Sunset" - oil on canvas - 16x20
Rick Carton concentrates on blending color and using his imagination in his paintings. He wants to expand into design in the future. His works have been featured as the promotional pieces for three Pyramid Player mainstage productions, Man of La Mancha, Turn of the Dial, and Blue Moon. His best known works are realistic landscapes including “Brooklyn Bridge,” a New England “Lighthouse,” “Gazebo at Lake Ella,” and “Landscape at Sunset.” His characteristic brushwork is immediately recognizable for its subtlety and free movement.
Featured Artist: Jo Ann Robertson
Jo Ann Robertson is a painter. She has created a series of highly successful bird paintings, portraits, and more recently geometric compositions inspired by Cubism. She has an active and lively imagination that influences her work. She enjoys using complementary colors and copious amounts of paint to add texture to her paintings. She has exhibited work in Pyramid Studios Gallery and at various other venues throughout Florida. She won First place at a juried competition at the Artel Gallery in Pensacola in September of 2008.
August "Trip" Schell - "Guitar" - acrylic on canvas - 20x24 - SOLD
Trip Schell is a talented visual and performing artist. Not only is he a veteran member of the Pyramid Players dance ensemble, his paintings are highly sought after by patrons of the Pyramid Studios Gallery. His art is characterized by subtly blended color that lends a surreal haze to his subjects as if they were viewed underwater. He has exhibited art at Pyramid Studios Gallery, rotating exhibits in state government and private offices, and various other venues throughout Florida. Notable works include “Pear,” “Morning Reflection,” and several wildlife paintings.
Rollo Babcock - "Mountains" - acrylic on paper - 15x20 - SOLD
Rollo Babcock has been a respected and favored artist in Pyramid Studios Gallery for several years. His talents range from being an excellent draftsman to a creative woodworker. His work varies greatly in size and content. Some of his best known pieces include a highly detailed self-portrait, a gigantic birdhouse, and many abstract landscapes.
Jamie Goldenetz - necklace
Jamie Goldenetz is a highly creative and imaginative artist who is open to new media and new forms of expression. She is a poet as well as a visual and performing artist. Her jewelry is inspired by her love of nature featuring beads in greens. She is an accomplished illustrator and painter working both from what she observes as well as her rich imagination. Notable works include “Moody Monotone,” “Bird for Dinner,” and “Penguin.” She has exhibited work at Pyramid Studios Gallery as well as at other venues throughout Florida.
Iris Kent - necklace
Iris Kent is a fine artist and jeweler. She works primarily in clay, acrylic and watercolor. Her work demonstrates her playfulness in its brushwork and composition. She often chooses vibrant color and striking contrasts to command the attention of her viewer. Her favorite subjects include flowers, people, and more abstract forms. She has created an extremely successful series of hand painted cards as well as exhibiting paintings, sculpture and jewelry in various venues throughout Florida.
Featured Artist: Carmen Ramos
Carmen Ramos is an ambitious and imaginative visual artist in addition to being a veteran performer in the Pyramid Players ensemble. Her paintings have been extremely popular with art patrons throughout Florida for several years for their meticulously layered colors and ethereal forms. She is also an artist with very limited use of her arms and hands due to cerebral palsy. In order to create her art, she requires an assistant to help her with the set-up of her visual art materials: her paper, paints, palettes, etc. must all be laid out for her. She has difficulty holding a paintbrush, and so several years ago she began painting with her bare feet. She currently paints with the heel of her right hand and fingertips directly onto her canvas and with an assistant to turn her canvas when needed. Her artwork is an extremely important part of her identity, as well as her income, as she sells paintings on a regular basis. She chooses subjects with personal meaning for her compositions, whether as gifts for family and friends, or to express some facet of her imagination. She has also completed several commissioned pieces for private individuals and has exhibited work at Pyramid Studios Gallery, rotating exhibits in state government and private offices, The Moon, Strozier Library, and a juried exhibit at Artel Gallery in Pensacola. Levi Blount and Anne Davidson - "Flight at Sunset" - acrylic on canvas - 29x65
Levi Blount
"I have been both a performing artist and visual artist for a while. I started painting in the 9th grade. My older brother encouraged me to paint. He’s twenty-five going on six, and he paints too. I’ve painted a lot of pictures for him.
I like to paint nature scenes, including an ocean scene, flowers, a snake and a wolf. I also enjoy making more creative pictures where I am mixing paints and mixing acrylic with water to experiment. I just learned about Jackson Pollack and how he throws paint to be in the painting. I also like to go crazy on a piece of paper. Another influence was Bob Ross, the painter on PBS. He would draw the happy little trees and mountains. Bob was cool and I loved his paintings. My paintings are from the heart.
I love acrylic paint, but I also enjoy jewelry making, dancing, and have started making fabric art. I have started designing puzzle piece designs on shirts and dresses. I aspire to be a designer featuring my own fabric art. Performing arts are also a passion. I have danced in three different productions through Pyramid. I have also sold many original jewelry creations. I enjoy making earrings and multi-strand necklaces of my own design."

Anne Davidson is a very successful visual artist exhibiting and selling paintings, illustrations and jewelry often in the same gallery opening. Anne’s jewelry is varied and unique. Her styles range from multiple strands to wirework, glass and foil work, and a line of watches. Her paintings have a signature style: thick acrylic color with precise brushwork. Notable works include her series of self portraits, “Rothko Study,” and ”Bottles.” Her pieces have exhibited in several galleries in Tallahassee as well as many venues throughout Florida.
Ann Marie Brinkman - necklace
Ann Marie Brinkman is an accomplished jeweler and visual artist. Her jewelry designs are very popular in the Pyramid Studios Gallery. She has also exhibited sculpture and paintings. Ann Marie creates very complex patterns with her jewelry, usually paying extra attention to the mood of her pieces and how they will impact her customers.
Amber Battle - necklace - SOLD
Amber Battle has exhibited a variety of work in Pyramid Studios Gallery from copper embossing to hand made jewelry to acrylic painting. Some of her favorite subjects for her works on paper include people and architecture. She is a quiet observer of her environment whose artwork reflects her perception of the small details.
Ann Broadway - "Landscape" - acrylic on paper - 15x20
Ann Broadway is a multifaceted artist. Her work includes photography, watercolor, pen and ink, acrylic, graphic art, and digital media including film. Her freeform watercolor paintings and meticulously drawn mandalas are extremely popular among art patrons. Her work is heavily influenced by cultural signs and symbols. With her photography she explores unusual angles, lighting, and detail in architecture. She is also a performing artist who enjoys dancing and being on stage.
Pyramid Studios is a completely arts-based Adult Day Training non-profit facility and community art gallery serving adults with developmental disabilities. A staff of professional visual and performing artists teach self-confidence, self-sufficiency, and community integration through the arts. We also seek to expose the greater community to the abilities of our talented and creative students.
